In the previous monetary policy review in June, the MPC had also kept the repo rate unchanged at 5.25 per cent, citing the need to closely monitor incoming macroeconomic data. The committee had similarly maintained the status quo in its April and February meetings after lowering the repo rate to 5.25 per cent in December 2025.
