RBI cuts CRR by 100 bps to 3% to infuse Rs 2.5 Lakh Cr liquidity

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Friday cut the Cash Reserve Ratio (CRR) by 100 basis points to 3 per cent, to be implemented in four tranches of 25 bps each, starting September 6, followed by October 4, November 1 and November 9. The move is expected to release Rs 2.5 lakh crore of durable liquidity into the banking system by the end of November 2025.
