Inflation slips below RBI’s target of 4%

Retail inflation fell below the Reserve Bank’s median target of 4% in February, driven by lower food prices, including vegetables and eggs. Meanwhile, the manufacturing sector boosted the factory output index to 5% in January. The sharp decline in inflation raises prospects for another rate cut by the RBI on April 9.
