India's July factory growth near five-year low on weaker demand, PMI shows

India’s manufacturing sector saw its slowest growth in nearly five years during July. Overall demand remained soft, and new orders rose at a weak rate. Job creation also slowed for the twenty-ninth consecutive month. Input cost inflation eased, but transportation costs continued to rise. Business confidence edged up, citing positive demand and infrastructure project expectations.
