India gains wider EU steel access, but carbon levy remains
India is set to increase its steel exports to the European Union, with a total of 1.64 million metric tons per year. This expansion includes a preferential quota of 694,853 tons, improving access for Indian steel products in the EU market. However, shipments surpassing this quota will incur a hefty 50% tariff, and carbon-related costs will still apply.
