Direct cash transfers to women boost household savings and spending effectively. Schemes in Maharashtra and Odisha showed significant improvements in savings. Monthly account balances increased substantially for beneficiaries in both states. Consumption spending also saw notable increases after these transfers were implemented. Expanding these programs can combine financial aid with women’s economic empowerment.
