The CBIC has directed zonal heads to de-map officers from the GST portal immediately after retirement or transfer to prevent unauthorised access. This decision follows a case where an officer sanctioned a fraudulent refund because they were not de-mapped. Supervisory officers will monitor the de-mapping process and report compliance to jurisdictional commissioners.
