Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman confirmed that capital expenditure has increased to Rs 11.21 lakh crore for 2025-26. Special assistance loans to states for capital expenditure have also risen proportionately. Sitharaman responded to Congress leader P Chidambaram’s query regarding the reduction in revised estimates for fiscal year 2024-25.
