White House tech advisor Michael Kratsios has told AI companies worried about unsafe models that they can simply stop development without government permission. Speaking to Fox News Sunday, he said the US already has tools to handle AI risks. His remarks follow Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei’s call for an AI slowdown, backed by OpenAI’s Sam Altman, Elon Musk and Google DeepMind’s Demis Hassabis, as President Trump rules out a pause.
