US Senate passes bill to end government shutdown, sends to House

The United States Senate has ended the longest government shutdown. Federal agencies will now receive funding. Hundreds of thousands of federal workers will be paid. Food benefits will be restored. Layoffs are prevented until January 30. The deal now moves to the House of Representatives for approval. President Donald Trump has called the deal very good.
