India’s CPI Inflation falls to 7-Year Low of 1.55%

In July 2025, India’s CPI inflation fell to 1.55%, the lowest since 2017, driven by a favourable base effect and broad price declines. Food inflation dropped to -1.76%, the lowest since 2019, with rural and urban food prices both in deflation. Kerala saw the highest state-level inflation at 8.89%, followed by Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, Karnataka, and Maharashtra.
