India bonds advance on RBI buying buzz, firm US debt

Indian government bonds saw a rally early Thursday. This rise was fueled by expectations of Reserve Bank of India purchases in the secondary market. Firmer U.S. Treasury yields also provided support. Clearinghouse data indicated significant buying by investors classified as ‘others’. The central bank is scheduled to buy bonds worth 500 billion rupees later today.
