The Goods and Services Tax Appellate Tribunal has ordered instant noodle maker CG Foods to deposit over ₹90 lakh into the Consumer Welfare Fund. The tribunal found the company profiteered by not passing on a GST rate cut benefit to consumers. CG Foods increased base prices after the tax reduction, a move the tribunal rejected.
