Police in Thane have registered a case against four individuals for allegedly creating fake GST-registered firms. These firms were used to claim input tax credit amounting to over Rs 22.06 crore. The accused prepared false documents to obtain GST registration certificates. They allegedly created eight fake companies to fraudulently claim the credit.
