A former Assistant Commissioner of GST has been sentenced to five years in jail. The court found Ashok Nayak guilty of demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 1.25 crore. Nayak had demanded Rs 12 crore from a businessman to settle a matter with the Enforcement Directorate. He was arrested by the Anti Corruption Bureau while accepting the first installment.
