The government is supposed to conduct a Consumer Expenditure Survey every five years. However, the latest survey – conducted in 2022-23 – comes after more than a decade#39;s gap and holds important clues for the most important economic indicator for India – the Consumer Price Index and the inflation rate derived from it.
