Delhi HC upholds property tax on star hotels, dismisses pleas on arbitrariness

The Delhi High Court has validated the MCD’s decision to impose higher property taxes on three-star and above hotels, deeming the star-rating classification rational and non-arbitrary. The court emphasized that these hotels voluntarily benefit from premium services and clientele. It also upheld the inclusion of basements and non-FAR spaces in tax calculations, ensuring equitable revenue distribution based on property valuation.
