The government has extended Chief Economic Adviser V Anantha Nageswaran’s tenure till March 2027. Nageswaran, who took charge in January 2022, will continue to advise on economic policies and draft the economic survey. A veteran in finance and academia, he forecasts economic growth of 6.3-6.8% for 2024-25 amidst indications of economic moderation.
