Meesho deepens fintech bet with ₹400 crore infusion into payments arm
Meesho has invested nearly INR 400 crore in its wholly owned payments subsidiary through a rights issue, according to a regulatory filing reported by Moneycontrol. The move comes as the e-commerce company expands its financial services strategy, even though the payments unit reported a INR 24.65 crore loss in 2025-26. The board had already approved a broader push, including the creation of a new financial services subsidiary. The latest infusion gives the payments arm capital to scale operations, strengthen compliance and build new capabilities, but profitability remains a key challenge.
