Sebi waives investor group disclosure rules for FPIs investing solely in govt securities
In a significant regulatory shift, Foreign Portfolio Investors focusing solely on Indian government securities are no longer required to submit investor group information. This change is intended to streamline compliance processes for these investors. Following the Reserve Bank of India’s earlier removal of a similar limit, Sebi has declared that the identification of investor groups is now unnecessary for this category of FPIs.
