Indian bank deposits jump by $115 billion over three fortnights to record high

Indian banking system deposits have reached a record high after recent inflows. These deposits saw a significant jump over the last three fortnights to July 31. The Reserve Bank of India’s foreign-currency non-resident scheme supported this growth. Inflows worth nearly forty-one billion dollars were recorded by the end of July. This deposit pickup is expected to strengthen credit conditions for banks.
