India’s net direct tax collections reached over Rs 23.40 lakh crore in fiscal year 2025-26. This marks a 5.12 per cent increase from the previous year. However, the collections fell short of the revised government target for the fiscal. Corporate tax saw a healthy rise, contributing to the overall growth.
