Sebi mulls allowing gift cards, prepaid instruments to invest in mutual funds

Markets regulator Sebi is proposing new gift prepaid payment instruments for mutual fund investments. This initiative aims to bring more new investors into the mutual fund space. Purchasers can gift these instruments to recipients who can then use them to buy mutual fund units. The proposal includes a Rs 50,000 investment cap per investor annually.
