India plans ₹1,000 crore war-risk insurance fund as Hormuz crisis disrupts trade

The proposal currently being evaluated by the finance ministry would enable domestic insurers to extend coverage to vessels sailing through high-risk zones such as the Strait of Hormuz, taking comfort from government-backed reinsurance that would cushion potential losses, the people said.
