Retail inflation rises to 1.33% in December
Retail inflation in India reached a three-month peak of 1.33 percent in December 2025. This rise was driven by increased costs for essential kitchen items like vegetables and protein-rich foods. Food inflation, however, remained negative for the seventh month. The National Statistics Office reported that personal care items, vegetables, meat, fish, eggs, spices, and pulses contributed to the overall increase.
