The Independent Consultants and Advisor Association (ICAA), representing East India’s Mutual Fund
Distributors (MFDs), recently concluded its annual gathering, the ‘ICAA Mega Convention 2024,’
held from February 29 to March 2 at Sterling Resort in the scenic locale of Puri, Odisha.

The convention provided a platform for luminaries from the financial sector to share their insights on
various pertinent topics affecting the mutual fund landscape. Notable among them was N S Venkatesh,
former CEO of AMFI, who deliberated on strategies for propelling India’s mutual fund industry towards
achieving an Assets Under Management (AUM) target of Rs. 100 lakh crore.

Vikas SS, General Manager of SEBI’s Eastern Regional Office, elucidated on the regulator’s tripartite
objectives of safeguarding investors, fostering industry growth, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
He also shed light on SEBI’s proactive measures aimed at augmenting mutual fund penetration.

Devesh Mittal from PFRDA explored avenues within the National Pension System (NPS) distribution domain,
presenting MFDs with opportunities for expansion.

The event featured a distinguished lineup of speakers, including representatives from renowned financial
institutions such as HSBC Mutual Fund, Bajaj Finserv MF, Whiteoak Capital MF, and others,
who shared valuable perspectives on industry trends and growth prospects.

The convention culminated on a delightful note with a guided city tour of Puri on March 2,
offering participants a chance to unwind and explore the cultural richness of the region.
